Reviews of Our Voices
"Voices exemplifies the daily lives of Latinos, past and present, struggles and successes. The stories are well-written and professionally done. This book provides a clean and accurate perspective of Latinos in the United States."
- Norma Tamayo, award-winning author of A Girl Named Nina
Our Voices: Little Stories Through a Latina Lens is a captivating collection of short stories that offers readers a poignant and diverse glimpse into the lives of Latin and Hispanic people across the United States. Authored by a Latina who is deeply rooted in her culture, this anthology weaves together a rich tapestry of narratives, each exploring the unique experiences, challenges, triumphs, and resilience of individuals from different backgrounds and generations. From tales of family bonds and cultural nuances to stories of self-discovery and empowerment, "Our Voices" celebrates the multifaceted identities of Latinos and Hispanics while shedding light on the intersections of culture, heritage, and personal growth. Through the lens of these intimate and thought-provoking stories, readers embark on a literary journey that delves into the complexities of love, identity, and the enduring strength that arises from embracing one's roots. This collection is a powerful testament to the voices that often remain unheard but are, nonetheless, essential to the fabric of our society. "Our Voices" offers a compelling and authentic portrayal of the experiences faced, making it an inspiring and eye-opening read for all who seek a deeper understanding of the diverse perspectives within the Latino community.
"Lizette's debut book becomes a poignant extension of her lifelong commitment to championing the marginalized, fostering empowerment, and shaping a world where every voice finds its rightful place. Everyone should read it!" ~ M. Romero
